Breast Cancer Awareness Day
October 19, 2011
For the past five years, Streeter Associates has designated a day for an annual breast cancer awareness day. Organized by Donna Brimmer, a breast cancer survivor, the day pays tribute to those affected by this disease and serves to remind everyone of the necessity of screening for early detection. Many Streeter Associates’ employees and their families have felt the impact of a Breast Cancer diagnosis and make personal contributions to help find a cure.

Elmira College Cowles Hall Update

Streeter Associates continues the exterior masonry work and prepares to start the interior work at Elmira College's Cowles Hall Renovation. As members of the Streeter Masonry Team work to complete the building's brick dormers , chimneys, and block elevator shift, scaffolding is being erected in the building's chapel area. The chapel is a large multilevel room that will incorporate stained glass and high-end millwork. Stay tuned…

Streeter Associates receives special recognition from Lovell Saftey Management

On May 10h, Streeter Associates was awarded a Certificate of Achievement by Lovell Safety Management during their annual meeting in Syracuse. The recognition was for not having any reportable Workers' Compensation claims for the 4/1/09 to 4/1/10 policy year. Streeter Associates has been a member of Safety Group 469 since 1956, which utilizes the services of Lovell Safety Management Co. As a result, Streeter Associates has access to Lovell's safety service through direct contact with their staff and safety professionals.
Streeter Associates' Vestal Open House
May 6, 2011
On May 5th, Streeter Associates hosted an open house at their Vestal Office. The event was attended by an estimated 75 people from the Binghamton-area engineering, design and construction industries over a three-hour period. A number of team members from the Streeter Associates Elmira office also attended. Streeter Associates' President, Jeff Streeter, said "The open house was a great opportunity for us to see some old friends and make new ones". He added "This event raised the level of excitement we have about being here and partnering with so many quality people."

Cornell University Waste Stream Project
June 11, 2010
Streeter Associates turned the Phase 1 digester over to Cornell University on April 6, 2010. The digester is now being used in place of the incinerator to cremate animals. The incinerator has been removed to make room for the Phase 2 Rotoclave, which will be used to sterilize and pulverize medical waste coming from the Vet School and surrounding hospitals. Phase 2 has a scheduled completion date of August 1, 2010.
OSHA 30 Safety TrainingJune 11, 2010
This past spring, many of Streeter Associates' superintendents and office management completed an updated OSHA 30 hour safety training class. Kristi Alexander, our Corporate Safety Director, was in charge of the OSHA training and brought in several guest speakers over the 30 hour course. All participants completed a "tool box talk" as part of their instructional training.
Merrill Sailing Center UpdateApril 13, 2009
Sailing season has arrived! Streeter Associates, Inc. and their subcontractors are working to turn over the New Sailing Center to it's new owners.
Clemens Center Ready to OpenOctober 20, 2008
The second phase of the Clemens Center restoration project is completed and will host events starting October 21st.
Olin Hall UpdateOctober 17, 2008
Streeter Associates, Inc. has recently begun general contracting work at Cornell's Olin Hall which is scheduled for completion in November of 2009. Construction is primarily an HVAC upgrade which will include a new areaway, generator pad, doors and windows. The unusual site conditions of the project require shoring, underpinning, and rock excavation to install the new areaway.
New Elmira College Dorm Ground BreakingJuly 17, 2008
Elmira College has started construction on a new luxury dormitory that will house an additional 140 upperclassman. Streeter Associates, Inc. will act as General Contractor on the $35 million dollar project that is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2010. Read the Star-Gazette article here!
Jeff Streeter featured in GBC Build New YorkMay 20, 2008
Jeff Streeter, President Streeter Associates, Inc., was recently featured in the Spring/Summer 2008 issue of GBC Build New York magazine. Jeff was included in a roundtable discussion of the risks taken by general contractors. Topics included the decreasing flexibility of contracts as it pertains to general contractors as well as how delivery systems should change to accommodate these contracts. Also discussed was the risk management associated with expanding a sub-contractor base in order to stay competitive while still assuring quality work.

Streeter Associates, Inc. has been named one of the top five commercial builders in Central New York State according to the Central New York Business Journal. This ranking is determined by 2007 construction volume.
